Hamilton man faces forgery charges

A Hamilton man was arrested on forgery charges March 18, according to a statement from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Tyrone Griffin, 42, of Hamilton is charged with nine counts of forgery. According to the statement, Griffin is accused of stealing checks from a local business owner in Monroe County and then forging those checks and cashing them at several local businesses.

Griffin is currently being housed in the Monroe County Detention Center. Bond has not been set at this time.
