UPDATE: 1 injured in car versus train crash in Lee County

A car and BNSF train collided Thursday night in Lee County around 10:30 p.m.

Police and Union medics responded to the scene after BNSF called in the crash.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson, the crash was near the intersection of County Road 1149 at Field Road, which is off Highway 6 in the southern portion of the county near Nettleton.

Johnson said the crash was on a field road on private property. One car was involved, with one person in the car. The car occupant was injured and will be checked out by medics.
