Confederate memorial service planned

AMORY - The Captain Francis Marion Rogers Camp No. 873 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will hold a memorial service at the Confederate monument in the Frisco Park at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5.

April has been designated as Confederate Heritage Month by proclamation of the Governor. April 29 is Confederate Memorial Day, an official state holiday in Mississippi.

The memorial service will include remarks by Rev. Don McCain, period music, and a musket salute. The public is invited to attend.
