JACKSON - As residents across the southern half of Mississippi continue to clean up from last week's tornadoes, disaster officials are bracing for another round of potentially severe storms.

Lynn Burse, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says possible severe thunderstorms will move through Jackson and areas south of Interstate 20.

Burse said the storms will be widespread, starting during the day Tuesday and continuing through the evening and another storm front will follow Thursday.

A third series of storms are predicted for Sunday.

Meanwhile, nonprofits and insurers are taking stock of damage caused by storms that spawned six tornadoes last week, causing widespread damage in several counties.
