n The Houston Vocational Center AEST Plant Science class is having their first annual spring plant sale at the AEST Greenhouse. The class has grown a variety of plants including ferns, tomatoes, pepper, lantana, coleus, geraniums, and many more.

K4 registration

set for April 27

n Four year-old Kindergarten registration at Houston Lower Elementary School will be held Monday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the HLES gym.

Parents should bring:

* Shot record from health department or doctor

* Birth certificate

* Two proofs of residency

* Social Security number

* Child does not have to be present

HMS Choir concert

n The Houston Middle School Choir will perform a Spring Concert at Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Houston on April 28 at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Trading day in Mantee

n A community yard sale will be held April 25, 2009 at Main Street in Mantee from 8 a.m. until. Food and entertainment will be available.

MS Singing Churchmen at FBC

n The Mississippi Singing Churchmen will be in concert at First Baptist Church in Houston at noon on April 28. The men's choir is comprised of ministers of music from Baptist churches in Mississippi and began in 1965 under the leadership of the late Dan Hall, director of the Church Music Department for Mississippi Baptists. In 1971, the Churchmen elected officers and organized their operations for outreach, missions and ministry. Dr. Milfred Valentine has been directing the Churchmen since 1982.

The Mississippi Churchmen have been praising God and sharing their witness since their inception. They have sung their testimony throughout Mississippi and in mission trips around the United States and world. They are committed to "sharing the song of Jesus."
