RHS Tennis team qualifies for state tournament

PONTOTOC--Thursday, the Ripley High School Tennis team competed in the individual portion of the Division 1-3A tournament, with winners to advance to the state tournament in Jackson May 4-5.

In boys doubles, Trent Hill and Burt Wilkerson qualified with an undefeated season in division play. The duo won three matches at the division tournament and improved their season record to 7-0.

Kat Harell and Samatha McBride also finished the season 7-0 after sweeping through the division tournament in girls doubles.



In boys singles, Khristian Farrell entered the division tournament as the No. 2 seed but emerged as singles champion. Farrell finished the season 5-1 in division.

Friday, the team qualified for the state tournament with a 4-3 victory over South Pontotoc.
