Smithville's clinched a trip to Ridgeland and next week's MHSAA Class 1A state fastpitch softball tournament with Friday's 10-0 win against Houlka.
The Lady 'Noles will find out today if they'll play defending state champion East Webster or Bogue Chitto for the title.
The Lady Wolverines, who host Bogue Chitto a 5 p.m. for Game 2 and possibly Game 3, defeated Smithville in the state championship series last year.

In Class 3A state semifinals, Nettleton plays at Mooreville at noon. The Lady Tigers won the series opener, 5-3, in Nettleton.
