On Saturday, May 9, the mail carriers of the Amory Post Office will participate in the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive. They are asking all residents of Amory and Monroe County to take time to put non-perishable food items in a plastic sack and place on or in their mail box, where it will be picked up by the carrier.
The letter carriers in the Amory office are sympathetic to the layoffs in their area due to the economy and wish to have a successful food drive for the community.
The food will be donated to the local Amory Food Pantry located at 123 S. Main Street.
