INGOMAR - Faced with elimination, the Ingomar Falcons held off a late-game rally from Myrtle to earn a 9-5 Game 2 victory and a chance to drive 10 miles back to Ingomar to play Game 3 of a best-of-3 series.

The Falcons advanced to the MHSAA Class 1A semifinal series with a 4-0 Game 3 victory over the Hawks.

"Today we played for Ingomar baseball," said coach Andy Wilbanks. "Everybody went out there, did their part and that's when we are at our best."

Josh Hodges homered in both games for the Falcons (23-4).

Ingomar (23-4) will take on West Union Eagles in the semifinal series starting on Thursday.

A MHSAA coin toss will determine the host site of the series.
