A total of 34 Guntown students took part in the regional fair. Award winners at the regional level were Haley Johnson, first place in chemistry; Catherine Morrow, first in medicine and health; Dillon Hall, first in physics; Meghan Brown, second in chemistry; Adam Grubbs, second in botany; and Nazar Palykhata, third in microbiology.
Five of the six Guntown students who qualified for the state science fair won awards at that event April 1-2 at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. The state winners were Johnson, second place in chemistry; Morrow, second in medicine and health; Grubbs, fifth in botany; Palykhata, fifth in microbiology; and Hall, sixth in physics.
