AMORY - An early Monday morning fire totally destroyed a home in North Amory.

According to Amory Fire Chief Jimmy Bost, a brick house on Hwy. 25 North owned by Bobby West and Larry Decker, both of Tupelo, burned down. The fire was called in at about 5 a.m. and when firefighters arrived, the house had flames coming out.

Investigators were to determine the cause of the fire on Tuesday. Bost said it could have been lightning related since there was a thunder storm in the area at the time of the fire.

At the time of the fire, no one was living in the house which was undergoing renovations.

Bost said no firefighters were injured while fighting the blaze.
