TUPELO FILM FESTIVAL: 2009 Tupelo Film Festival will be Thursday, May 14; Friday, May 15; and Saturday, May 16 at the Lyric Theatre. Features film screenings, workshops and more. Screenings range from free to $5. Workshops are $15 students/$20 adults. Complete schedule at www.tupelo.net/filmfest.
PIED PIPER PLAYHOUSE: Pied Piper Playhouse will present performances of "Nuts," a mini-musical about the Circle of Life, and "Who, Me? Yes, You!" a comedy/drama about social responsibility, at 7 p.m. Friday May 15; at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, May 16; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17 at Milam Elementary School auditorium. PLANTERSVILLE DAY IN PARK: The Plantersville Volunteer Fire Department and Youth Council are sponsoring the annual Day in the Park Saturday, May 16, in the Plantersville Middle School gymnasium. DANCE HAPPENING: Tupelo Academy of Dance Arts' Dance Happening 2009 will be at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at Tupelo Civic Auditorium. The 2 p.m. show features younger students in "Disney Princesses," along with advanced dance presentations. CANCER FUNDRAISER: The Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo will host a fundraiser Saturday, May 16 to benefit the American Cancer Society. Money from the trail rides will benefit the ACS.
