OKOLONA - Kierra Johnson, Wanda Parker, and Kori Smith, all juniors at Okolona High School, have been accepted into the Engineering and Manufacturing Camp for 2009.

This summer camp is for high school students interested in engineering and it is being sponsored by the Center for Manufacturing Excellence at the University of Mississippi. Students will learn engineering and manufacturing concepts and advance their knowledge through hands-on projects, such as computer-aided design and 3-D printing.

The University of Mississippi faculty from the School of Engineering faculty will engage students in the world of manufacturing and engineering. Campers will also experience real-world applications of engineering by touring two manufacturing plants in Mississippi.
