HAMILTON - Hamilton High School seniors will take their final walk as the Class of 2009 as they graduate on Thursday, May 21.
The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. Students taking part in the ceremony will be Brent Thompson, class president, giving the welcome; Mason Welch with the invocation; Kristina Miller, secretary/treasurer, cord color designation; Miranda McCormick, class song.
Kristi English, valedictorian, and Stefan Tribble, salutatorian, will speak to the assembly. English is also class vice-president and STAR Student. As her STAR teacher, she chose Christina Cox, Allied Health teacher at the Monroe County Vo-Tech.
Presentation of scholarships will be made and diplomas will be awarded by HHS principal Mark Howell and assistant principal Ray Weeks.
Blue, black and silver are the class colors, and the class flower is the rose. As its song, the Class of 2009 chose "Second Chance." The class motto is "What lies behind us and what lies before us are nothing in comparison to what lies between us." The HHS Hall of Fame for 2009 includes Kristi English, Darisha Fields, Kelli Holloway, Raven McCracken, Kristina Miller, Dan Owens, Sydney Sanders, Hannah Seely, Brent Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Stefan Tribble and Mason Welch. Student Council members are Eden Burton, Sydney Sanders and Kelle West.
At the HHS commencement, 49 seniors will receive diplomas. Of those 49, five are exchange students. These are Laetitia Boulanger, Joerdis Sophia Feigl-Berger, Liu Yen Jung, Stefan Sartori and Riccardo Ugolini.
