Jerry Wayne Long, 43, and Juan Perez Johnson, 22, both of Shannon, have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Shannon Police Chief Desiree Kershner said Long, the alleged shooter, is charged with five counts of aggravated assault. Johnson, the alleged driver, is charged with accessory.
Because there were five people in the vehicle that shots were fired into, Long was charged with five separate counts.
Kershner said the driver of the SUV was not the target of the shooter, but a female passenger who allegedly owed one of the suspects money.
According to witnesses, two men pulled in behind a SUV that was at the drive-through window at the bank Wednesday afternoon and started firing at the individuals in the vehicle. The SUV drove off when the shooting started and Kershner said it was chased by the suspects, who witnesses said were driving a white late model Ford Crown Victoria, Kershner said shooting continued while driving.
Several shell casings from a .380-caliber handgun and broken glass were found at the bank.
Kershner said witnesses at the scene knew the suspects and recognized the car they were in, and that led to the arrest.
A third man was brought in for questioning but was not charged.
