JACKSON - Two Northeast Mississippi suspects have been charged by the attorney general's office for victimizing vulnerable adults.

Tracy Goodson, 39, of 17 County Road 412, Calhoun City, was arrested on Aug. 13 by investigators with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, charged with one count of misdemeanor exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

Investigators say Goodson made long-distance phone calls on a line in a resident's room at Graceland Care Center in Oxford. The calls totaled less than $250, and if found guilty, Goodson faces up to one year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

In an unrelated incident, Courtney Dixon, 23, of 19-A County Road 119, Abbeville, was arrested Aug. 13 and charged with misdemeanor abuse of a vulnerable adult for allegedly slapping a resident of North Mississippi Regional Center in the face. If convicted, Dixon faces up to one year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
