Trucks Challenge Series
- Hickory Flat's Jess Williams has taken the points lead in the United States Super Trucks Challenge Series.
His second-place finish Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway pushed the 23-year-old into the lead for the first time this year. With 389 points, Williams is 14 ahead of Chris Sevey of Waterloo, Iowa.
Williams and winner Trista Stevenson were two laps up on everyone when Williams blew an engine with two laps to go in the 50-lap affair. He coasted around the track for one more lap to secure the second-place finish.
Nashville was the fourth race of the six-race series. The next scheduled race is at Dells (Wisc.) Raceway on Sept. 12.
