ABERDEEN — Delta State University assistant history professor Adam Lynde will be tried Oct. 13 in federal court in Aberdeen on charges of possessing child pornography.

Lynde pleaded not guilty to the charges Tuesday in federal court in Greenville. U.S. District Judge Glen H. Davidson will preside over the trial.

Lynde was indicted July 30 with possession of child pornography. Federal agents seized his computer.

Lynde remains free on bond. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Delta State has placed Lynde on administrative leave pending the outcome of his case.
