IUKA – The weekend drowning of a Corinth man at J.P. Coleman State Park has been ruled accidental.

The Tishomingo County dive team recovered the body of Timothy “Chad” Wallace, 24, from the waters of Indian Creek in the park.

Wallace’s apparent drowning was reported about 4:30 p.m. by two friends who missed him coming back up after they got out of the water, said Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon.

He was pronounced dead of an accidental freshwater drowning about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Wilemon said.

The incident was investigated by the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
