According to Monroe County Sheriff Andy Hood, Monroe County Deputies arrested Brandon Brownlee, 23, Amory, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon early Sunday morning

"The deputy stopped a car that Brownlee was a passenger in," Hood said. "He saw Brownlee remove something from his waist and place it under his seat. Further investigation of the driver and passenger found Brownlee to be in possession of a half of an ounce of marijuana and a possible stolen firearm. The glock 22 .40 caliber pistol was placed under Brownlee's seat and had all identification numbers either removed or filed off. The firearm will have to be sent to experts to try and identify whom it may have belonged,"

Brownlee was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Chickasaw county in 2004. According to Hood, more charges could be pending once the firearms origin is known.
