One dead in ultralight crash

OLIVE BRANCH - A man has been killed when his ultralight aircraft crashed in a soybean field in Mississippi near the Tennessee line.

Authorities told WMC-TV of Memphis that witnesses said the aircraft spiraled out of control and then crashed near a private landing strip Friday afternoon.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was the only person on board.

The aircraft was heavily damaged.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
