While most of the area's high school slow-pitch softball teams played on Tuesday, there were five first-round playoff series involving area teams that were postponed to today and Thursday.

In Class 4A, Pontotoc will have to play its first-round series against Newton County at home on Thursday.

The Class 3A series between Mooreville and Winona will also be played on Thursday at Winona.

In Class 2A, the Hamilton will play at Eupora on Thursday.

There were two more postponements in Class 1A with the Pine Grove-Ray Brooks series being moved to today at Ray Brooks and the Myrtle-Smithville series being moved to Thursday in Smithvill.

As far as area second-round matchups go, Walnut will play at Baldwyn on Saturday and Nettleton will play at Corinth also on Saturday.
