SALTILLO - A Saltillo High School student says it was his text message communication with a teacher at the school that was behind the teacher being removed from her classes last Friday, WTVA reports.

The content of those messages is unknown. The student says the messages were not explicitly sexual in nature.

Lee County School District Superintendent Mike Scott says the teacher was taken out of class, but he couldn't comment any further since it's a personnel matter.

Police are not investigating the incident. Instead, the district attorney's office will decide whether to open an investigation and bring charges against the teacher.

Attempts to reach the teacher involved were unsuccessful.
