TUPELO – The city’s development services department has given the inaugural “Moving Tupelo Forward” award to Papa V’s convenience store in recognition of its creative and constructive private sector engagement with the goals of Tupelo’s 2025 comprehensive plan.

Mayor Jack Reed Jr. and department representatives will present Papa V’s owner John Robbins with the award at 11 a.m. today at the store on the edge of Fairpark.

The city lauded the gas station at the corner of East Main and Elizabeth, saying in a press release that it provides a transition between the highway-oriented uses on one side and the walkable downtown area that begins at Elizabeth Street.
