Ole Miss utility player Dexter McCluster has been named the SEC’s offensive player of the week.

McCluster had 260 all-purpose yards, the most for an Ole Miss player since he totaled 268 in his first college game. He became the first player in the modern era of Ole Miss football to gain more than 100 yards both rushing and receiving in the same game.

With 22 carries for 123 yards, McCluster, playing mostly at tailback, had the first 100-yard rushing game of his career.

He had seven catches for 124 yards and scored on a 64-yard screen pass.

The No. 24-ranked Rebels play at Auburn Saturday at 11:21 a.m.
