Carrie Nichols was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to DUI death in connection with the 2008 accident that killed two New Albany men.

Nichols, 30, of Fulton admitted that she was driving under the influence the night she ran into a vehicle at Coley Road and McCullough Boulevard killing 19-year-old Adrian Cannon and 20-year-old Julius Dozier.

Three other people were seriously injured, including one of Nichols’ children.

Nichols was taken into custody yesterday and remains in the Lee County Jail.
