TUPELO – The city’s Public Transportation Committee today unanimously recommended a contract of nearly $25,000 for an engineering firm to assess the city's needs for public transit.

The recommendation for the contract with Neel-Schaffer now goes before the City Council.

If approved, the study likely would start in January and be completed in four months.

See Saturday's Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal for more details.
