JACKSON — Police in Jackson say a man's body has been found inside his car, submerged in a body of water.

A passerby called police to report that a car had crashed in West Jackson just before 10 a.m. Saturday.

Jackson Police Department Public Information Officer Joseph Daughtry tells WAPT-TV that , when police arrived, they found 28-year-old Jeremy Kendrick in his vehicle.

The Jackson Fire Department worked alongside the police department to get the car out of the water. The body was taken to a state crime lab to determine the cause of death.

After a preliminary investigation, Daughtry said officials believe it was a one-car accident.
