HATTIESBURG — Southern Mississippi coach Larry Fedora says offensive coordinator Darrell Wyatt has been hired as a member of the coaching staff at Kansas.

Wyatt is expected to assume the role of receivers coach under Turner Gill in his first season of directing the Jayhawks.

The Hattiesburg American reports Fedora has begun the search to replace Wyatt, but it's unlikely that he will have to look very far.

If Fedora follows his inclination to promote a member of his current staff, quarterbacks coach Blake Anderson would likely be the leading candidate.
