On Dec. 30, Joseph Lambert of Corinth was stopped on Harper Road for failing to signal. After police searched Lambert and his vehicle, police claimed to have found two plastic bags of crack cocaine in his pockets. Lambert was charged with possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $5,000.
Later on that day, Byron Jamaal Shumpert of Booneville was charged with possession of a controlled substance. During a traffic stop, police claimed to have found bags of cocaine. His bond was set at $5,000.
On Jan. 2, Rickie Onia Leatherwood Sr. of Corinth was charged with the sale of a controlled substance. Police said they witnessed Leatherwood participating in a drug deal in a parking lot. His bond was set at $10,000.
Three other people were taken into custody and police said more charges are expected.
