CORINTH – Authorities have closed the investigation of two deaths Sunday in Corinth, ruling the deaths a murder and suicide.

Amanda Johnson, 29, of 1609 N. Madison St., was shot at her home by her estranged husband, Brad Johnson, 39, who then turned the gun on himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said Brad Johnson, of 804 Linden St., had parked some distance away from the Madison Street residence and was hiding when Amanda Johnson returned home.

Detective Josh Fortenberry and Capt. Ralph Dance continued the investigation, but Dance said on Wednesday the case had been closed.
