Pontotoc High School’s Blake O’Callaghan (pitcher), Kaleb Kennedy (pitcher/shortstop) and Jake Smithey (third base) each inked their letters of intent with the Indians’ baseball program.
A left-hander, O’Callaghan went 7-2 last year with a 4.59 ERA and had 80 strikeouts in 58 innings, while hitting .396 with two home runs, 27 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
Kennedy was 8-1 with a 2.81 earned run average. At the plate he hit .356 with two home runs and 27 runs scored.
Smithey hit .471 with 10 homers, 33 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
Tupelo middle infielder Kirk Roberts, who hit .345 as a junior at THS, also signed with ICC.
A second left-handed pitcher, Dylan Earnest of Hamilton, was among ICC’s signees on Wednesday. Last year, Earnest went 6-2 with a 0.84 ERA.
Also among ICC’s 2010 signing class was Zach Randolph, a catcher from Amory who hit .366 last season. Randolph threw out nine of 12 runners trying to steal.
