Mississippi schools fill needs on signing day

CHRIS TALBOTT,Associated Press Writer

JACKSON — Ole Miss landed its top target and one of the nation's best recruiting classes on national signing day.

The Rebels signed heralded wide receiver Vincent Sanders, new Wild Rebel quarterback Randall Mackey and filled needs in the secondary and along both sides of the line of scrimmage Wednesday, the first day high school players can sign national letters of intent.

Recruiting analysts put the class in or near the top 15.

Mississippi State's class, headlined by gargantuan offensive lineman Damien Robinson and defensive end Kaleb Eulls, is considered top 40, while Southern Miss appears to have signed another group under coach Larry Fedora that could land in the top 50 for the third straight season.

Robinson is a four-star player and Lawson is a big body.”
