The Tupelo Police Department has charged two individuals with three counts of auto burglary. A citizen saw the individuals breaking in a car parked at a local business in Tupelo.

The citizen called 911 and followed the suspects until patrol officers could arrive and make the arrests.

The suspects were identified as James White and Becky Hooper.

As a result of these arrests, several cases of auto burglary and forgery will be closed in Tupelo and the surrounding areas.

A search of their vehicle and motel room produced crystal methamphetamine.

The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit will bring these charges against the suspects. The stolen items recovered by the detectives have been returned to the victims.

At the time of arrest, both suspects were currently out on bond for Grand Larceny. White had an active arrest warrant with Mississippi Department of Corrections for violating the terms of his probation.
