ITTA BENA — Mississippi Valley State head men's basketball coach Sean Woods has been suspended one game and the school fined $1,000 by the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

SWAC Commissioner Duer Sharp said in a statement Friday that the suspension came in response to Woods being called for a technical foul and then being ejected during Monday's game against Alabama A&M.

Woods was assessed a flagrant technical foul and was ejected in the second half of the Delta Devils' 77-69 loss.

Woods is suspended for Saturday's game at Alcorn State.

Sharp says a suspension is automatic when a coach or player is ejected from a game.
