A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas north of Clarksdale to Oxford to Iuka where snow showers will produce around one inch of snow as well as reduced visibilities, the National Weather Service reports.

Snow flurries possible around NEMS. There is also a chance of light snow in the Golden Triangle area. Snow not expected to amount to much in terms of accumulation.

New Albany and Union County schools are closing early due to weather concerns at 1 p.m. The school system says buses will run at 1:30 p.m.

Tishomingo County schools also closed at 1:45 p.m.

South Tippah Schools closed at 2:15 p.m.

Blue Mountain College classes were dismissed at 2:30 p.m., and there will be no night classes tonight

A North Half basketball game between Hickory Flat and William Sullivan for Monday night has been moved to Tuesday night.
