UPDATE: Mueller appealing huge OSHA fine

OSHA has confirmed to the Daily Journal that Mueller Industries is appealing the $683,000 fine it levied on the Memphis-based company last month.

Mueller was cited Jan. 25 for violating 128 safety violations related to a July 29 fire and explosion that killed a worker and two others at its Mueller Copper Tube plant in Fulton.

The company had 15 business days to file the appeal, and that deadline was Friday.
