WEST POINT — A West Point High School student was arrested at the school after he allegedly shot a gun into the door of a local business.

West Point Police identified the shooter as 18-year-old Cedric Burns. No one was injured in the incident.

Capt. Mike Burgess tells The Commercial Dispatch that officers responded to a call at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the One Stop Deli Store to shots being fired.

Burgess said the incident was caught on the store security video system.

Burns was taken into custody at the high school without incident. He was charged with aggravated assault.

It wasn't immediately clear if Burns has an attorney.
