Friday, Judge W. Allen Pepper in Greenville said he was not persuaded that the election will be jeopardized because voters cannot cast absentee ballots.
Ruby Cunningham and Willie H. McNairy sued the school superintendent and board trustees to stop the election on March 6, saying they should be provided with absentee ballots, which they weren't.
The plaintiffs insisted that African-Americans would be discriminated against because many couldn't vote during the election hours.
Pepper's order said that at the end of a March 4 telephone hearing, the plaintiffs did not provide him with the required factors to stop the vote.
Pepper said he was "unpersuaded."
