TUPELO – Bond was set at $2 million for the man accused in the capital murder of two Tupelo men Sunday night.

Maurice D. Harris, 1011 Hilda St., is accused in the deaths of Jerry White, 35, and O'Neal Collier, 39, both of Tupelo. found shot inside a vehicle in the North Green Street area.

The deaths are the city's first homicides since 2007.

The autopsy report shows Collier had two gun shot wounds to the head and White had one.

Capital murder is a charge based on murder during the commission of another crime, sometimes robbery.

Police discovered two bodies in a vehicle on Linden Hill Street about 9:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call.

Linden Hill is a short dead-end street off North Green Street, next to the Tupelo Boys & Girls Club.
