For the Bulldogs, Junior All-American Emanuel Mayers had the performance of the day in the hurdle events. Mayers finished second in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles. In the 400-meter hurdles he ran a personal-best 49.65 seconds.
MSU had top finishes in the both the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Leading the way was Dwight Mullings, who had a career day winning both the 200- and 400-meter dashes. The All-American ran a personal-best 20.63 seconds in the 200 and season-best 45.74 seconds in the 400.
Ole Miss junior Lee Ellis Moore set a new school record and claimed the individual title in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 49.52. Moore surpassed the previous school record of 49.87 he posted last season as a sophomore.
In field events, freshman Ricky Robertson won the high jump after posting a height of 7-00.50.
Both teams will be back in action this weekend. The Bulldogs travel to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Auburn Invitational Friday, while the Rebels return to action Saturday to take part in the LSU Alumni Gold Meet in Baton Rouge, La.
