Belden Center Principal Emily Pulliam will become the education director of the Juvenile Detention Center, replacing Diane Paige, who will retire at the end of the current school year.
The changes were approved Tuesday night at the Lee County School Board meeting.
As part of an application for a federal School Improvement Grant at Shannon Middle School, the district was required to replace the school’s principal. Green is in his first year at the school. He will finish the current school year there.
The Belden Center is the district’s alternative school both for students who are being disciplined and for those who are two years behind their peers academically.
