“Our defense I thought played pretty well. Our offense really didn’t execute very well,” coach Dan Mullen said. “And it started up front.”
Mullen didn’t make it easy on his defense, though, subbing regularly on both the first-team and second-team units and running several different sets. One of those sets had free safety Johnthan Banks working some at cornerback.
“We wanted to put some pressure on with that depth,” said Mullen. “One of the things you do when you pull guys out is see how other guys respond in that group.”
MSU returns to the practice fields on Thursday and Friday and will cap the spring in Saturday’s annual Maroon-White game at Davis Wade Stadium.
