Powers batted .706 (12-for-17) with six doubles, a home run and eight RBIs over his last four games. MSU won three of those games, including two of three from Tennessee at home.
For the season, Powers is hitting a team-high .414 and leads the SEC in RBIs (53) and slugging percentage (.767).
His Bulldogs (19-17) play host to Alcorn State at 6:30 p.m. today at Dudy Noble Field. Freshman Chad Girodo (1-2, 8.89 ERA) will start on the mound for MSU.
