Cory D. Moore, 34, of Booneville, was captured about midnight Wednesday at a service station in the Hatchie Bottom area of west Alcorn County, said K-9 Deputy Scott Brown.
Moore fled Booneville in a silver Mitsubishi sedan that had been reported stolen.
He escaped Booneville police who first spotted him driving the vehicle, then sped away again when a Prentiss County investigator tried to stop him.
The Prentiss County investigator, driving an unmarked vehicle, pursued Moore north on U.S. 45. Alcorn County officers joined the chase when it crossed the county line, as did Corinth police.
Moore turned west on U.S. 72 and continued at high speed for several miles until he crashed the car in the Theo community. He fled on foot into surrounding woods, and authorities searched the area for several hours.
Someone saw Moore walking in the vicinity of the truck stop where he was captured and called it in, Brown said. He tried another run, but was caught without incident.
The Alcorn County Sheriff's Office took Moore to Prentiss County Jail Thursday morning, and he is likely to face charges from the Booneville Police Department, Sheriff Randy Tolar said.
Moore remained in Prentiss County Jail late Thursday.
