The Benders and Mayhem String Band will perform during an event billed as Tupelo Gives Back.
"We're asking everybody to bring a picnic dinner and join us," said Anna Freeman Wyatt, communications director for the city.
Members of Mayor Jack Reed Jr.'s task forces will set up booths under tents. There will be information about the neighborhood, jobs, health and education task forces.
"They will also be asking if anyone is interested in being involved on the task forces," Wyatt said.
In addition, a computer with an Internet connection will be set up. People will be invited to visit the Pepsi Refresh Everything Project and vote for Team Tupelo Leadership Program.
If it gets enough votes, Team Tupelo could earn $25,000 to provide leadership training for teens and adults involved in Tupelo's neighborhood associations.
Wyatt said people also could vote for three other organizations vying for Pepsi money: Autism Center of Tupelo, North Mississippi Medical Center Cancer Center Barbershop Talk, and Pontotoc County Habitat for Humanity.
Representatives from the U.S. Census will have a booth set up during the concert.
Popcorn and other snacks will be for sale, but Wyatt recommended that people bring picnic dinners.
The event will be funded by the city, as well as community organizations and private donors.
"This is an opportunity to say 'thank you' to all of our citizens who volunteer their own time and energy to keep alive the Tupelo Spirit," Reed said.
