Brandon Robbins of Northeast finished third overall and helped the Tigers to a second-place team finish at the Region 23 golf tournament that wrapped up on Monday in Raymond.

Mississippi Gulf Coast (296-297–593) handily won the team championship over Northeast (298-312–610), with Northwest (305-319–624) third. It was MGC’s third consecutive regional crown.

Gulf Coast’s Skyler Dennis (74-72–146) claimed the medalist honors over teammate Richie Williams (72-74–146) by winning a sudden death

playoff on the first hole with a par. Robbins (71-76–147) and fourth-place finisher Alex Rowland (73-75–148) of ICC made the all-region team.

Northeast’s Blake Hatfield finished in a tie for seventh. Robbins and Hatfield – the MACJC state champion – qualified for the NJCAA national tournament, May 18-21 in Phoenix. ICC’s Rowland, the top golfer in the MACJC during the regular season, had previously qualified for the nationals.

Robbins is from Corinth, Hatfeld is from Booneville and Rowland is from Houston.
