TUPELO - The Tupelo Tea Party will sponsor a debate among the three Republican 1st District congressional candidates tonight at 7 at the American Legion Post 49 on Legion Road. It's free and open to the public.

The debate featuring Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo, Angela McGlowan of Oxford and Henry Ross of Eupora will be moderated by Stephen Crampton, vice president of legal affairs and general counsel for the Liberty Foundation. The event will conclude between 8:30 and 9 p.m., said organizer Grant Sowell.

The winner of the June 1 Republican primary will meet incumbent Democratic Congressman Travis Childers of Booneville and seven independent and third-party candidates in the Nov. 2 general election.
