CORINTH – An Alcorn County grand jury has indicted the former Corinth-Alcorn County Airport office manager on embezzlement charges.

Fabian Maricle was arrested Wednesday, and released on $10,000 bond, said a sheriff’s office spokeswoman.

Maricle, 36, served as interim office manager and administrative clerk at the airport from March 2003 through December 2006, said the state auditor’s office.

The allegation is that Maricle wrote checks to himself totaling more than $3,000 and falsified documents to cover it up, according to the state auditor. The agency began an investigation in 2007.

The state auditor’s office is attempting to recover the $3,128 allegedly taken, and $2,118 in investigative costs and interest.
