BOONEVILLE - Authorities searched for a third suspect after making two arrests in connection with a home invasion, burglary and kidnapping in the Blackland community last summer.

Bond for Anthony T. Branch, 42, of Booneville, was set at $500,000 and he remains in jail, said Sheriff Randy Tolar. Quincy Jamuel Miller, 23, of Baldwyn, has been released on a $100,000 bond, the sheriff said.

They were arrested April 29.

"Branch is originally from Detroit, Mich., so the judge felt there was some risk that he would leave the area," the sheriff said.

Each suspect was charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of burglary and larceny and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, the sheriff said.

They are accused in a June 26 incident in the Blackland community in which an elderly father and daughter were held, then taken to a bank in an attempt to force them to cash a large check, Tolar said.

Branch also was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance - marijuana - after officers found about 300 plants were found at the residence where he was staying.

The sheriff is asking that anyone with information on the third suspect call (662) 728-6232 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 773-8478.
